the camera eye can see.
Down mirrored hallways,
it’s everywhere I go,
this little red eye
sucking everything I know.
There’s no escape.
The doors are locked.
The more I think about it,
the more I’m blocked.
There’s a little red eye,
getting brighter as I move.
Why won’t it let me rest?
What’s it trying to prove?
Human behavior is now experimental,
sold with all things sentimental.
Here’s a baby in a tree.
Now watch them blow it up on the big tv.
What do you see?
Now don’t you care?
Maybe they deserved it.
You know that life ain’t fair.
There’s a little red eye
and it’s still watching me.
Every little move I make,
it records for free.

Mike Getsiv Portland, Oregon
As a child Mike Getsiv studied classical piano, percussion (with Greg Warner, then the touring drummer for Dionne Warwick) and sang in musicals. He played guitar and sang in Portland folk clubs and after he moved to New York City, subway stations and in Central Park.
